Mikaela got her PICC line in yesterday about 10:30. It is pretty tender at the sight but hopefully that will get better with time. The IV nurse came in and changed the dressing and said it looks good. That silly low fever is still hanging on and her tummy is hurting more today (like is usually does when she ends up in the hospital). The pain in her chest has pretty much resolved so that's good news. We will be here tonight and again, hopefully the fever will go away and she will be able to take oral pain meds so we can think about heading home in the next couple of days. I guess time will tell.
When we came back from Mikaela's procedure, there was a note on our door from Abby-she got to go home ! Yeah for her and her parents. It was kind of weird not having them pop in and say hi. Glad we got to know each other.
Meanwhile on the home front, Luke is the rock star! He is cleaning the bathroom, cleaning out the refrigerator, packing lunch for football and getting himself to and from practice! I miss him!
Oooh yummy, Child Life just came in and it's PIZZA DAY on the children's unit. Free lunch and it's delivered...hey we've been here 7 days, it's the little things :)
More soon.
