Good morning! Well I think it's still morning anyway. It's easy to loose track of time here. Sorry I haven't written in a few days-sometimes when Mikaela is sleeping, I like to sit here and read a book or do things where not much thinking is involved which I know is not fair to all of you wonderful folks who care about and love Mikaela so much. Anyway, I did write up a nice long update while we were still in the PICU a couple of days ago but, discovered that it never went through which was a big frustrating BUMMER. Anyway, I will try to give a quick run down version of the past few days.

That's it in a nutshell. I'm so happy she seems to be resting well at the moment. Jake, Monica and the kiddos came to VT for a visit yesterday. Monica and Maggie came to the hospital with Mom and Gram for a bit which I think Mikaela really enjoyed -it helped break up the day a bit. Luke & Mikey are coming up this afternoon to hang out.
Just to clarify something From a past post-I think I said Hepatic Encephalopathy was too much ammonia around the brain but if it's broken down, encephalopathy means disease or malfunction of the brain. Hepatic has to do with the liver so, since her liver failed to get rid of her ammonia, it caused her brain to not work the way it should....thanks for remembering I'm just a mom trying to get and keep all of the facts and info straight! :)
Talked with Dr. Guillot the other day and she has clarified that Mikaela has moved from chronically ill to critically ill so, once we get home any little thing that seems out of the ordinary means we are going to see the dr and let them decide the level of importance.
On that note...I'm signing off for now.
Sending lots of love your way!!
